Last week, I helped one of my best friend's, Lucy, make her friend's birthday cake. We went with a retro tea party theme to match the theme of the party; though of course the bunting showing a little bit of Hogwarts pride was completely necessary.
I made the 6 fondant roses and the teacup. Lucy made the other flowers. The bunting was a joint effort. (She cut them out, I piped and painted the gold/silver/bronze/black on). We bought some paper flowers from the supply shop, because Lucy really liked them. I'm glad we did because they teacup would have looked very sparse without them.
And this is my current favorite of all your cakes! I love the colors, and the tiny details (like the curls on the teacup's handle and the different colors on the flags)! It just looks so elegant and lovely, and too beautiful to eat!
Hehe, thanks! However, the design idea came from Lucy's mind, not mine. However, the Hogwarts-esque colour on the bunting was my idea, because Lucy wanted there to be a Potter theme on it, but couldn't figure out how. But yes... I adore this cake, and lots of other people really liked it, too.
