It's my cousin's birthday today, and she wanted a Hello Kitty cake. Originally, she wanted me to make a red version of the Hello Kitty cake I made in October, but as I don't like repeating cakes I asked her if this design was okay, and pointed out that I had ensured that there were still red and white stripes on the cake.
I really enjoyed making this cake, because the past few cakes I've done have either been cupcakes, or I've been copying someone else's cake. I don't like either thing, I find them boring. My depression has also rebounding, so just getting started on cake is ridiculously difficult, and this cake really helped me find my passion for cake decorating again. Just in time, too, as I have a mammoth of a SuperWho cake to make next week, and that's terrifying me.
Anyway, it's white chocolate cake and I'm so happy with the finished result.
Other Views: I'd love it if you could take the time to write a critique - focusing on both the cake itself AND how I've presented it to dA through the photographs. I'm pretty shabby with food photography, and it's an area I'd love to focus on more in the future. It doesn't matter if you don't have a Premium Membership - Anyone can /write/ a critique now!
