A girl I've known my whole life asked me to make her kid's birthday cake, and this is pretty much nearly exactly what she wanted. The board wasn't big enough to write 'Happy Birthday Kayah Jo' on it, but everything else is spot on. (Hehe, get it? Because the polka dots? No? Okay....)
But yes, this was the first properly tiered cake (as in the first multi-tier cake which needed internal support) I've ever made, so I was thankful that it was a pretty simple cake to decorate. Top tier was 5", the bottom was 9". Overall it's about 10" tall.
I'd love it if you could take the time to write a critique - focusing on both the cake itself AND how I've presented it to dA through the photographs. I'm pretty shabby with food photography, and it's an area I'd love to focus on more in the future. It doesn't matter if you don't have a Premium Membership - Anyone can /write/ a critique now!
